HOW DOES THE S3 OPERATE ?The S3 measures the volume of IS- or similar type of moulds for the container glass industry.
It can gauge round and shaped cavities even with engravings.
An expanding bladder filled with water is inflated into the mould cavity.
The measurement is obtained by comparing the water displacement of the mould against the known displacement of a reference mould.
The reference mould can be any mould with a similar, but not necessary identical, cavity and a known volume.
A cylinder and a piston activated by an electrical jack controlled by a numerical control assure the displacement of the water, the inflation is stopped when the measuring pressure is reached.
The error due to the temperature variation is corrected by the numerical control by monitoring the water temperature with an electronic probe.
The machine controls the vertical clamping of the moulds; the horizontal clamping is controlled with a torque wrench.
The adaptors are in two parts and can be changed after calibrating. The reference mould does not have to have the same neck Ø as the series to measure !

Measurements can be stored.
The machine has a PC connection and the files can be copied on a spreadsheet.
