HOW DOES THE S1 OPERATE ?

The S1 polishes IS- or similar type of moulds for the container glass industry. It can polish round and shaped cavities with round edges. The machine is suitable for any mould material: cast iron, bronze & steel.

Mould makers can use the S1, for polishing the moulds after turning or milling and glass plants can use it for mould maintenance.

The moulds are clamped on magnetic chucks and do not rotate. The tool and spindle rotate at 7000 RPM. The rotating spindle itself makes a planetary movement at the interior of the mould cavity and is applied against this cavity. At the same time the spindle moves up and down in the cavity at a slow speed.

The rotating and vertical speeds and the strokes are controlled by a numerical control. The machine exists with 1, 2 or 3 sections.
